EDEXCEL BTEC Level 3 subsidiary diploma in performing arts

Brief Summary of the Course

This is a practical course which has optionsin Dance, Drama,
Music and Mime. Units include:

  • Performing Arts Business
  • Acting Auditions
  • Mime
  • Performing to an Audience
  • Physical Theatre
  • Live Performance Workshop
  • Dance Performance
  • Deputy Stage Management
  • Theatre for Children

 

 

 

What will you be studying?

Units for Year 11:

Unit 7:   Performing to an Audience

Unit 9:   Devising Plays

Unit 10: Theatre in Education

Year 14 :

Units chosen will depend on the number ofpupils in class and their areas of interest.

  • Assessment is by coursework based on assignments set in each unit
  • Assignments will involve: Performance projects, individual research, group work and project work
  • Assessments are graded at distinction, merit or pass level

On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded an overall distinction, merit or pass grade.

 

 

Progression

The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Performing Arts offers progression opportunities in and to employment within the Performing Arts Sector. The qualification will also provide opportunities for progression to BTEC Higher Nationals, and other HE qualifications.
