EDEXCEL BTEC Level 3 subsidiary diploma in sport

Brief Summary of the Course

The Subsidiary Diploma in Sport is composed of a selection of vocationally related modules
which are assessed through work realistic assignments and projects.  Six modules are
required for the achievement of a subsidiary diploma.

The Subsidiary Diploma is equivalent to one 'A' level and is now recognised as a legitimate
award when combined with other traditional 'A' levels.

  • The Physiology of Fitness
  • Assessing Risk in Sport
  • Fitness Testing for sport and Exercise
  • Fitness Training and Programming
  • Sports Coaching
  • Psychology for Sports Performance
 

Progression

The course is primarily designed for those who wish to follow a sport related career either
through university degrees or via the vocational workplace.  These include Teaching,
Leisure Management, Instructing Exercise and Fitness, Activity Leadership and other roles in
the 'Sports Industry'.
